To make a successful College magazine I had to analyse two covers to decide on what I could put on it. After this I made a Survey monkey to see what the target audience thought and then I adapted this into my work. I posted this Survey on Facebook to see what my friends wanted on a College magazine.
I then asked a question about age to find out what age people are viewing the college magazine. I varied this from 11 to 19 year olds and then gave the option from 19+. Most people that down this were 14-16 year olds that are the same age group as me. This is good because they know similar on what they should be seeing on a college magazine.
I then asked them about how much money there household gets a year on average. To be Honest I do not know why I asked this question because it has nothing to do with the overall survey.
Next I asked what ethnic group they are in. I asked this question purely because I wanted to know what type of people are reading there college magazine and who took my survey.
Next I asked people if they read there current college magazine. This is because I wanted to know who read it and who didn't. This is good to know because I would know who has a good understanding on what the common conventions are.
I then asked the people What they like about there college magazine. This is good to know because I would know who has a good understanding on what the common conventions are. Also I would get a good idea on what they like so that I could then put the ideas from them onto my magazine.
After I asked them what they would like to see on a college magazine. This is a very good question to ask as this would give me a clear understanding on what my target audience would like to see on magazine. Most people said they would like a good clear masthead which is correct and also people said that they would like Dates/titles and also readable fonts.
Next I gave the audience three names that I would like to see on my own magazine. The three names I chose were 'School', 'Bodmin College News' and 'WHOA'. The audience chose WHOA! so i chose this for my magazine masthead.
Finally I asked the Audience if they would pay for the current college magazine. All the answers I got back were 'no'. this is because I think that people would much rather get given them as they might contain information that the students need and could be very immportant.

Your SurveyMonkey is starting to show proficient research skills, however you must make sure you analyse your results in more detail and link these results to your flat plans, images, typography choices and final product. Also, check your grammar you will lose a lot of marks for presentation if you overlook basic errors like 'i' not appearing as 'I.'
